Job description

Recruit. Net International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and international candidates across hospitals, nursing homes, home care, and community care settings. We are currently seeking a Registered General Nurse – Day Procedure Unit Theatre for a hospital based in Limerick, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver non-oncology infusion treatments while continuously monitoring patient condition and response. Provide clear education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and their families regarding procedures and care plans. Recognize and promptly manage adverse reactions, including anaphylaxis and other clinical emergencies.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. Adhere strictly to infection control policies, safety protocols, and best practice standards. Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to quality improvement and service enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Minimum of 1 year post-registration nursing experience, preferably within infusion therapy or a related clinical specialty. Demonstrated competence in administering intravenous therapies, including biologic agents, immunoglobulins and iron infusions.

Proficient in IV cannulation and venepuncture, with strong knowledge of safe IV therapy practices. Experience in patient education and providing clear guidance on treatment, aftercare and potential side effects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate, patient-centred approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Knowledge and experience in recognising and managing anaphylaxis and other emergency situations, with the ability to respond appropriately to clinical emergencies.
