Sr Advanced Systems Engineer – Engine and Power System Position Summary Seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate aerospace control systems and embedded solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in control theory, systems engineering, embedded software, model-based development, and aerospace certification standards to support next-generation avionics, engine control, and actuation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop system requirements, architectures, and traceability using DOORS/DOORS NG. Perform functional decomposition, requirements allocation, verification, validation, and certification support. Design and analyze control systems using classical and modern control techniques (PID, Root Locus, Bode Analysis, Digital Control).

Develop MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow models for plant modeling, simulation, auto-code generation, and verification. Support SIL/HIL testing, model validation, and system integration activities. Design and interface with sensors and actuators including speed, position, pressure, temperature, torque, current, voltage, vibration sensors, motors, valves, and solenoids.

Develop embedded software in C for real-time control applications. Support aerospace compliance activities per ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, Control Systems, or related engineering discipline. Strong fundamentals in: Electrical & Electronics Engineering Mechanical Systems and Thermodynamics Sensors, Actuators, and Signal Processing Classical and Modern Control Theory Embedded Systems and Real-Time Applications Technical Skills Control Systems PID Control Root Locus & Frequency Response Analysis Digital Control Systems Sensor and Actuator Dynamics Model-Based Development MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow Plant Modeling Control Algorithm Development Auto-Code Generation Model Verification & Validation SIL/HIL Testing Systems Engineering ARP4754A / ARP4761 Requirements Engineering (DOORS/DOORS NG) Functional Decomposition Architecture Definition Requirements Traceability Verification & Validation Planning Compliance & Certification MBSE / SysML Configuration Management Embedded Software Embedded C (Mandatory) Basic C++ Memory Management Interrupt Handling Scheduling Concepts Bootloaders Performance Optimization WCET Fundamentals RTOS Awareness Processor Experience ARM Cortex TI C2000 PowerPC Communication Protocols RS232 RS422/485 ARINC 429 CAN AFDX (Preferred) Preferred Qualifications Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Aerospace Cybersecurity AFDX Networking Gas Turbine Engine Controls and Dynamics Aerospace, Avionics, FADEC, or Actuation System Development Experience Desired Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Multidisciplinary systems thinking Effective communication and technical documentation abilities Ability to work in cross-functional aerospace engineering teams Experience: 5-12+ years in Aerospace Systems Engineering, Control Systems, Embedded Software, Avionics, Propulsion Controls, or related domains
