WHAT THE LJA INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE HAS TO OFFER Our Summer Internship Program runs from mid-May through the first week of August and is a fully in-person experience, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. As an LJA intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real-world projects.
You'll be integrated into a team, take on meaningful assignments, and develop the technical and professional skills needed to launch your career. This individual may perform a wide range of water and wastewater-related tasks, including data editing, analysis, map production, field inspections, and GNSS data collection. The ideal candidate will have a variety of GIS-related skills for both desktop and mobile applications. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE: Mapping of LJA projects into a GIS-managed database Field Work Performing Data Collection and Utility Inspections Exhibit Map Preparation Data Entry Database Management REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in GIS courses and working towards a Bachelor’s degree or recently graduated REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Good work ethic and punctuality Strong communication skills Highly organized and detailed oriented IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE: Working experience in ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS is preferred LEVEL UP WITH LJA At LJA, we’re 100% employee-owned.
