- Flight Sciences / Thermofluid Analysis Collegiate Intern in GAC Savannah. Unique Skills:About the Position. Thermofluid Analysis engineers / interns are responsible for a wide variety of analytical work, focusing on thermal modeling and fluid systems performance. The group develops new techniques to improve aircraft system design, especially on new aircraft programs. Thermofluids Analysis engineers build numerical simulations to predict environmental conditions throughout the aircraft, and to predict pneumatic, fuel, and hydraulic system performance. The group is also responsible for test data analysis in support of certification, ensuring all equipment on the aircraft remains within acceptable temperature and ventilation environments.The student will gain knowledge of aircraft system design, FAR Part 25 regulations, advanced simulation techniques, and data analysis techniques. The individuals will be participating in real projects while being mentored by senior engineers.Typical Major(s):Aerospace Engineering. Mechanical Engineering. Desired Skills:1D modeling and simulation (Amesim, Flow. Master/Flownex/Simscape)3D CFD and CHT (StarCCM+/Fluent/CFX/Open. Foam)CAD (CATIA/Rhinoceros/Simcenter3D). Optimization (Mode. Frontier/OptiSLAng/Heeds). Coding (Python, C/C++/C#, FORTRAN, Java, Matlab). Classes Taken:Heat Transfer. Propulsion. Gas Dynamics. Numerical Methods. Aerodynamics. Turbomachinery.

Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date.Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume.Rotation Requirements: Juniors 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students 1 rotation.Minimum duration: 12 weeks (summer); 1416 weeks (spring and fall).Must be onsite; this is not a remote position.
