HIL / xIL Development Engineer

Job description

Stellantis is seeking a HIL / xIL Development Engineer to support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems, plant model development, and system integration across MIL, SIL, and HIL environments. This role plays a critical part in accelerating validation for powertrain systems including ICE, HEV, and BEV applications. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with software, controls, calibration, and systems engineering teams to develop, integrate, and troubleshoot simulation environments for vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

Develop and reduce plant models for HIL applications and maintain a reusable model library Integrate models across MIL, SIL, and HIL environments Configure and commission HIL simulators for vehicle-specific applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, controls, calibration, systems engineering) on requirements and integration Troubleshoot and resolve HIL simulation and integration issues during commissioning Support ECU hardware interface definition and electrical harness design Perform benchmarking, evaluate new HIL technologies, and improve development processes and tools Work with global engineering teams across NA, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive industry and Hardware in Loop/HiL Experience with plant and controller modeling, simulation, development and testing.

Experience in Model Based Development on any Powertrain Application, preferred Matlab-Simulink/Stateflow/Sim. Scape Knowledge and experience with Powertrain ICE, HEV and BEV systems Demonstrated Hardware- In-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems) Experience with C/C++ code generation Experience with 1-D physical modeling tools such as GT Power, AMESim and co-simulation tools Hands on experience with the d.

Space Simulators (Scalexio), Harness design, implementation, Electrical Loads etc Experience with HIL electrical/ wiring harness, load box design, implementation and troubleshooting Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK Knowledge of CAN stack, SPI, LIN and Flash bootloader integration Knowledge in diagnostic management: CANalyzer, CANoe Knowledge of Simulation Tool (e.

g. Car. Maker, ASM) Knowledgeexperience with UDS, XCP protocol Familiarity using trace capture tools, data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS
