Academy Bank Physiotherapist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Newport County AFC Academy Medical & Performance Department. The Academy is seeking to recruit an Academy Bank Physiotherapist responsible for providing medical cover across both the Foundation & Youth Development Phases during training sessions and on matchdays. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of effective assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all injured Academy players.

Qualifications

Essentials Bsc in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation Emergency First Aid/Pitch-side Trauma Course Insured to Practice Registered with relevant regulator (HCPC/BASRAT) DBS Check Desirable Full UK Drivers Licence Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential Extensive knowledge and experience of the role and the position Knowledge of applied anatomy and bio mechanics, including experience in assessing, managing and rehabilitating growth/sports injuries in adolescent adults In-depth understanding of growth and maturation and its implications for a developing athlete IT skills to include the ability to use Football Intelligence Platform (FIP) software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Desirable Experience working with young professional players Understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) Attitude/Behaviours Essential Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines A genuine team player A reliable individual Personal Qualities Essential Displays a high level of discretion Personable with an ability to build individual relationships Hardworking and enthusiastic Empathetic to young players Ability to adapt to changing circumstances Loyal and committed
