About the Role

As a Line Cook based in Pittsburgh, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our kitchen by preparing high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. Your primary focus will be on executing menu items efficiently and consistently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience working as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Culinary school training or certification. Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or similar food service environment. Knowledge of regional cuisine and local food sourcing. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations throughout the shift. Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage food inventory and minimize waste.

Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking for quality and freshness of ingredients. Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely order completion. Adapt to changing menu items and special requests while maintaining quality and consistency.
