Director of Maintenance / Direktor hotelskog održavanja (m/f/d) YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES As Director of Maintenance , you will take ownership of all hotel-related maintenance operations across our premium hospitality facilities and play a key role in delivering an outstanding guest experience.

You will: Lead all maintenance activities within guest rooms, suites, public areas, restaurants, bars, kitchens, spa & wellness facilities, pools, fitness areas, staff facilities, and laundry operations. Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all hotel-related technical systems, including HVAC, lighting, water supply, plumbing, and other essential infrastructure.

Oversee the maintenance management system and service ticketing platform (Flexkeeping). Respond proactively and effectively to technical issues, minimizing guest impact while maintaining our 5-star service standards. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs aligned with operational requirements. Work closely with the Facility Manager / Technical Director to coordinate maintenance activities with resort-wide technical systems and infrastructure.

Support technical improvement projects, sustainability initiatives, and ongoing facility upgrades. Act as the primary maintenance partner for General Management, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Guest Services. Lead, develop, and motivate the hotel maintenance teams while fostering strong collaboration with technical infrastructure teams.

Ensure efficient workforce planning, coaching, training, and performance management. Drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on quality, responsiveness, safety, and guest satisfaction. Manage departmental budgets, supplier relationships, inventory, and service contracts effectively. Ensure full compliance with Croatian and EU regulations regarding safety, hygiene, environmental standards, and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU BRING Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hotel Engineering, Technical Facility Management, or a comparable field. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in hotel maintenance. At least 3 years of leadership experience within a luxury hotel, resort, or internationally branded hospitality environment.

Strong expertise in preventive maintenance planning, technical operations, and energy efficiency management. Experience working with CMMS solutions and maintenance management systems. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset. Fluent English; Croatian and/or German is considered an advantage.
