Job description

Job Overview: As the Head of Actuarial Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the actuarial department to ensure the financial stability and compliance of life insurance operations. You will oversee critical functions, including valuation, reserving, pricing, and implementation of IFRS-17, while also leveraging your expertise in the use of Prophet software.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the actuarial team, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of valuation, reserving, and pricing activities. Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with IFRS-17 standards, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives. Utilize Prophet software to perform complex actuarial modeling and analysis, supporting pricing decisions and financial reporting.

Collaborate with the finance department to ensure the accurate calculation and reporting of financial metrics, including financial statements and solvency requirements. Develop and maintain actuarial policies, procedures, and documentation to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Monitor emerging industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics, providing strategic insights to senior management.

Mentor and develop a high-performing actuarial team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, auditors, and other stakeholders. Play a key role in risk management and capital optimization efforts by providing actuarial expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Fellow or Associate of the IFOA, UK A minimum of 10 years of experience in life insurance actuarial roles, with a proven track record of leadership and managerial experience. In-depth knowledge of IFRS-17 standards and experience leading their implementation in a life insurance context.

Proficiency in using Prophet software for actuarial modeling and analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve results.

Up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices.
