Banquet Steward

Job Overview Courteously, professionally, and efficiently set up and break down function rooms and areas for banquet events. Maintain proper care, and inventory of all banquet equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Set up and break down all banquet furniture according to each event. Arrange tables, chairs, and different furniture according to floor plan. Responsible inventory all china, silverware, glassware, and linen before and after the event Responsible for receiving and inventory deliveries and rentals. Responsible for providing assisting management and guest with different set up requests.

Maintain and manage proper use of all banquet equipment. Ensure and maintain Cleanliness, sanitization, and organization of all banquet equipment Store all banquet equipment on its proper location. Ability to communicate with supervisor regarding any issues concerning operating equipment or inventory discrepancies. Perform other activities in different areas as necessary.

Perform all activities in a safety manner.

Qualifications

Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, objects of 50lbs or less without assistance, and objects heavier than 50lbs with assistance. Be able to manipulate objects of different size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand eye-coordination. Ability to red and interpret banquet event orders and floor plans. Must have great communication skills and be able to work in other team members.

Must have great attitude and flexible schedule. AM/PM and weekend. Ability to multi-task. Organization skills necessary. Food handler certificate. Must be 21yrs or older. Must be able to obtain a Slot License. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
