Daycare Kitchen Assistant (Part-time) !

Reporting to the Chef/Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations.

Your role

will involve food preparation and assisting, following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement. We are currently hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to work Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m .

Responsibilities

Assist with meal and snack portioning, and delivery to classrooms, ensuring food is distributed safely and on time. Assist with food preparation tasks such as fruit preparation, and other kitchen support duties as assigned. Prepare and organize meal service supplies, including bins, serving materials, and delivery carts.

Collect dishes, utensils, and meal service equipment from classrooms. Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, serving equipment, and food trolleys in accordance with food safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas, equipment, storage areas, and meal service items.

Assist with organizing, storing, and rotating food products, kitchen supplies, and inventory. Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergy-awareness, and workplace health and safety requirements. Work collaboratively with the Cook and Centre Director to support efficient kitchen operations. Perform other related duties as required to support the overall operation of the kitchen.

What you need 2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role. High School diploma or GED required. Current Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it. Experience in a daycare environment is an asset. Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract. Strong communication skills. A clean criminal record check is required.

Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to minimum 50 pounds.
