Summary The Painter II independently performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include painting and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes.

Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment. The Painter II position will assist the Painter I in evaluating and completing projects, as needed.

Job Summary

The Painter II performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include painting and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment. The Painter II position will assist the Painter I in evaluating and completing projects, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance repairs and other duties as assigned as referenced in Unit Specific Competency Check List and performs any work assignment in conjunction with the skill sets required of the job, not necessarily within craft line.
  • Responds to emergency situations including disaster response, power I other utilities loss, floods, etc. to limit effect to facility.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the ability to perform basic power and hand tool skills. Demonstrates knowledge and use of power tools utilized in construction trades; uses power tools safely and properly maintains power tools. Responsible for safe and proper operation as noted in Unit Specific Competency Check
  • Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors.
  • Ensures that all work is performed using the proper PPE to ensure a safe environment.
  • Meets level I technical and knowledge depth for any trade.
  • Demonstrates ability to work from blueprint and estimate projects and create a bill of materials.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, skills and experience including carpentry, construction, and millwork to be considered a master carpenter or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform Painting skill sets.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge depth for painting and associated systems according to standards established by management team. Can identify different types of painting specific tools and materials and how to use them, basic math skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills equivalent to those required of a master painter and wall finisher.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures that re-work due to negligence is consistently less than 4%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • In lieu of a high school diploma/GED, an additional 2 years will be considered, total six (6) years of painting experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years commercial painting and building service systems experience is required.
  • Ability to work shifts and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities.
  • Valid driver’s license is required. Must obtain Florida license within 6 months of employment.
  • Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy. Salary Range Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
