Job Description: Assistant Payroll Officer /Payroll Officer About the role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Payroll Officer/Payroll Officer for supporting our end-to-end payroll operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliance with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF regulations, and Inland Revenue Department (IRD) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Update and maintain employee master data, leave records, and attendance sheets in the HRIS system. Handle weekly & monthly payroll execution for employees, including calculating salaries, overtime, allowances, bonuses, and unpaid leave deductions. Manage EMPF, including enrollment for new joiners, calculating employer/employee contributions, and handling terminations.

Prepare and submit annual tax employer’s returns (Forms 56B, 56F, and 56G) to the IRD. Calculate final payments (long service payment, severance pay, payment in lieu of notice) for departing staff. Serve as the point of contact for employees' payroll and tax questions. Assist in preparing monthly payroll reports for the Finance team.

Requirements

& Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management . 1 to 2 years of payroll experience, ideally within the F&B, retail, or hospitality industries . Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Hong Kong Labour Law, MPF regulations, and IRD tax ordinances. Proficiency in MS Excel (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables are essential) and hands-on experience with payroll software/HRIS.

High level of integrity, sharp attention to detail, strong numerical sense, and the ability to handle highly confidential data. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
