Description JOB SUMMARY The Assembly Technician I for Alloy Surfaces Company (ASC) is responsible for the assembly and sub-assembly of hardware parts and components in a fast-paced, low volume, heavy manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform basic equipment operation including but not limited to hardware assembly, component lubrication and preparing hardware kits Read and interpret standard operating procedures, drawings and technical data or blueprints to perform assembly operations Print, apply labels, and assist with packaging products Complete and maintain all associated paperwork including but not limited to checklists, job travelers, and packaging material Perform rework and repair operations as instructed by senior assembly technician or supervisor Follow detailed instructions and specifications utilizing specialized skills, tools, and equipment for complex units Inspect parts for defects and perform audits to ensure all necessary parts are available to perform builds, tests and repairs OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, U.
S. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and the Chemring Operational Framework Ensure the Group ethos of all employees going home safely at the end of their working day is adhered to Promote a high standard of ethical behavior and adherence to the Group’s core values, and to promote a culture of honesty and integrity across ASC Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Special projects and additional duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY N/A Requirements EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION High School Diploma or Equivalent EXPERIENCE Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.
S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance Technical knowledge and ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and read schematics for complex builds Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills Team player who works productively with a wide range of people Motivated self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components Ability to perform assembly operations and inspect assemblies using a microscope Ability to manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities Ability to function under stress and interact cordially with co-workers to accomplish common tasks Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing reporting systems PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently.
Involves standing and walking most of the time, but may involve sitting for brief periods of time. Use of computer. Ability to distinguish colors. Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage and handling small components on regular basis. Ability to climb and balance.
