Hotel Houseman

Location: 7730 Corinne Dr, Hammond, IN 46323 Property: Courtyard by Marriott Hammond About the Role Support the housekeeping team by keeping public areas clean, moving linen and supplies, handling trash, and assisting room attendants so guest rooms and common spaces meet Courtyard by Marriott standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public areas including lobby, corridors, restrooms, meeting space, fitness area, and exterior walkways.
• Collect, transport, and restock clean linen; bag and deliver dirty linen to laundry.
• Remove trash and recycling from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house.
• Assist room attendants with room turns, rollaways, cribs, extra bedding, and heavy items.
• Stock housekeeping closets and carts with amenities, chemicals, and supplies.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and spot-clean public spaces to brand standards.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and lost-and-found items immediately.
• Follow all safety, chemical-handling, and bloodborne-pathogen procedures.
• Support laundry operations as needed (sort, load, fold, or transport).
• Help with deep-cleaning projects, public-area refresh, and special event setups.
• Work as part of the housekeeping team and assist other departments during peaks. Required
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push carts, and lift 50+ lbs throughout the shift.
• Reliable attendance and attention to detail.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Preferred
• Prior hotel, housekeeping, or janitorial experience.
• Familiarity with Marriott or Courtyard brand standards.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
