About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Digital Print Operator to support the daily operations of our printing and finishing processes. This role involves assisting with the operation of Pro-Stream, Canon IX, and Ricoh printers and, over time, will include training to operate a Smyth machine. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control, maintaining essential supplies, and assisting with smooth workflow coordination across multiple departments.
Schedule: 4-day schedule: Four days per week, 5:30 AM–4:00 PM Alternate 5-day schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM Schedules vary based on production needs, with occasional Saturdays required.
What you'll do
Assist in operating the Pro-Stream, Canon IX, and Ricoh printers to ensure quality prints are produced. Conduct quality checks on printed materials to verify accuracy and color consistency. Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, including paper and ink. Receive and store new pallets of supplies efficiently.
Move completed jobs to other departments as needed to maintain workflow. Collaborate with press operators to ensure smooth, consistent operation and production. Use computer-based printing software to access job information, monitor print jobs, and update production records. Over time, receive training and develop proficiency in operating the Meccanotechnica Roll Smythe machine for finishing tasks.
Qualifications
High school diploma, or equivalent Must speak English Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects or inconsistencies in printed materials. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks, including Smyth machine operation. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Basic understanding of print production pro cesses is preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills, including navigating software and entering information. Strong organizational skills to manage invent ory and supplies. Good communication skills and a cooperative approach to team collaboration.
