Company: Finning (UK) Ltd Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: As a Technical Service Controller, you will coordinate a team of engineers to deliver efficient, high-quality service and a strong customer experience. You’ll plan and allocate resources, manage work progress, and ensure jobs are completed on time and to standard.
Using your background in plant, agricultural, or HGV engineering, you’ll act as the technical link between engineers and the control team—interpreting issues defining required works, and ensuring jobs are scoped, prioritised, and completed to a high standard. You’ll also mentor engineers, monitor performance, and ensure service processes are followed.

Competitive salary + annual bonus 25 days holiday + bank holidays (option to buy more) Pension up to 7% + share scheme Healthcare benefits (medical, dental, optical) Discounts platform + wellbeing support Family-friendly policies and enhanced parental leave Key Responsibilities Manage and schedule engineering work to maximise productivity Assess and prioritise customer requests, allocating appropriate resources Monitor job progress, ensuring timely completion and accurate system updates Open/close work orders and support billing accuracy Lead, coach, and support a team of engineers (4–8) Maintain strong customer communication and service standards Requirements Background in plant, agricultural, or HGV engineering Gas & Diesel Engine product knowledge Good knowledge of mobile and fixed equipment components and systems Understanding of warranty and commissioning processes Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills Ability to interpret technical issues and support non-technical teams Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) Experience in a similar role (desirable) Education and Experience Foundational Engineering understanding and qualification Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or mechanical engineering role Previous experience in a similar role within similar industry environment desirable Hours – 41.
