Lead Engineering Technician

About the Position: Serves as a Lead Office Engineering Technician responsible for Construction Division-wide Construction Contract Administration, performing a full range of office engineering activities, as well as some field activities, associated with construction contract administration and management with authorities prescribed by the Chief of Construction Division and the Contracting Officer.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri. 1. Performing contract administration activities related to military construction programs;
2. Formulating independent government estimates for proposed contract changes;
3. Advising superiors concerning field changes, contract modifications, and/or construction problems; AND
4. Negotiating with contractors for the costs of proposed contract changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
