We provide our clients with high quality, in-house design, engineering, manufacturing, powder coating, and printing services, and customer service. NEWP has over 600,000 square feet of manufacturing space across Massachusetts, Georgia, and Maine. NEWP has a salesforce presence nationwide and has been growing steadily over the last 43 years. Our team in Kingfield, ME is looking for hardworking, passionate employees to grow our expanding team! We are looking for a dependable and motivated MIG Welding Robot Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate and monitor robotic MIG welding equipment, inspect finished parts for quality, maintain consistent production, and troubleshoot basic equipment and welding issues. This is a great opportunity for someone with welding experience who is interested in advancing their skills. Training in robotic welding programming and setup is available for the right person. Previous robotic welding or programming experience is a plus but is not required for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person Qualifications: Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor robotic MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.

Load and unload parts and properly position components in welding fixtures. Start, stop, and monitor robotic welding cycles. Inspect welded parts to ensure they meet company quality standards and specifications. Make basic adjustments to welding parameters and equipment as needed. Identify weld defects and make corrections or notify the appropriate personnel when additional troubleshooting is required.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the robotic welding cell, fixtures, and surrounding work area. Maintain accurate production counts and documentation. Follow work instructions, welding procedures, production travelers, and quality requirements. Monitor production throughout the shift and communicate problems that may affect quality or production schedules.

Assist with setup and changeovers between different parts and products. Work closely with supervisors, welders, and other members of the manufacturing team to maintain efficient production. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Learn and perform basic robotic welding troubleshooting.

With training, learn to make program adjustments and eventually develop or modify robotic welding programs.

Qualifications

Previous MIG welding experience preferred. Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred. Ability to read and understand basic welding drawings and work instructions. Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Willingness to learn new equipment and technology. Previous robotic welding experience is a plus but not required. Training & Advancement We are willing to train the right person in robotic welding programming. Candidates who demonstrate strong work habits, mechanical ability, attention to detail, and an interest in learning may have the opportunity to advance from operating the robotic welding cell into robot setup, programming, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move parts and materials as required. Ability to work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, noise, and manufacturing machinery. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to quality and safety.
