Special Education Pre-K Ed Tech III

Job Title: Special Education Pre-K Ed Tech Location: Somerville School Position Type: Full-Time (7.5 hours per day) Position Overview Somerville School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Pre-K Educational Technician (Ed Tech) to support students in a self-contained preschool classroom. This position focuses on providing individualized (1:1) support to young learners with significant disabilities in a nurturing, inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 instructional and behavioral support to preschool students Assist the classroom teacher and special education staff in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Support students in developing communication, social, behavioral, and early learning skills. Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities in a self-contained preschool setting.

Help maintain a s afe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Collect data and document student progress as directed by the teacher or special education team. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet student needs.

Qualifications

CHRC & Ed Tech certification/authorization as required by the State of Maine. Experience working with young children and/or students with disabilities preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting all learners. Ability to assist students with physical needs, including lifting, positioning, and mobility support when required.
