T he Role: We are seeking an experienced Azure Integration Tech Lead to provide technical leadership across our integration platforms, cloud-native services, and API ecosystem. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, architectural governance, people management, and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will lead a team of integration engineers while remaining actively involved in the design and delivery of secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective integration solutions built on Microsoft Azure. Working closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and Platform teams, you will define technical direction, establish engineering best practices, and drive the adoption of modern cloud technologies, automation, platform engineering, and AI-assisted software delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring integrations are reliable, observable, maintainable, and aligned with both business objectives and technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership Own the technical direction of the Azure Integration estate. Lead architecture and design decisions for APIs, event-driven systems, messaging platforms, and enterprise integrations. Establish engineering standards, design principles, and development best practices. Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, observable, and maintainable.

Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and technical governance. Balance delivery speed, technical quality, and operational risk. Team Leadership Provide line management and technical leadership to integration engineers. Coach, mentor, and develop engineers at all levels. Define technical objectives and support career progression planning.

Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and learning. Support recruitment and technical assessment of engineering candidates. Azure Integration Engineering Design and deliver solutions using Azure Integration Services, including: Azure API Management (APIM) Azure Functions Logic Apps Service Bus Event Grid Storage Accounts Azure SQL Cosmos DB Data Factory Lead development of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.

Implement enterprise integration patterns including: Message Routing Content-Based Routing Message Transformation Content Enrichment Event Streaming Guaranteed Delivery Retry and Dead Letter Processing Correlation and Sequencing Reconciliation Processes Platform Engineering Own the design and evolution of the Integration Developer Platform.

Enable self-service deployment capabilities for engineering teams. Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform. Establish reusable templates, accelerators, and automation frameworks. Improve developer experience through platform tooling and automation. DevOps & AI-Assisted Engineering Promote modern engineering practices including: CI/CD Git.

Ops Automated Testing Infrastructure as Code Dev. Sec. Ops Drive utilisation of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery speed. Champion automation across build, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational processes. Security & Governance Collaborate with Security teams to implement Azure security best practices.

Design secure authentication and authorisation models using Microsoft Entra ID. Ensure compliance with organisational governance and regulatory requirements. Implement secure networking architectures using: Virtual Networks Private Endpoints Network Security Groups Hybrid Connectivity Patterns Observability & Operations Establish best practices for monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management.

Improve operational visibility through: Application Insights Log Analytics Pager. Duty Lead root cause analysis and continual service improvement activities. Ensure services meet agreed availability and reliability targets. Fin. Ops & Cost Optimisation Drive cloud cost governance and optimisation initiatives. Ensure solutions are designed with cost efficiency as a key architectural consideration.

Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve cloud resource utilisation. Embed Fin. Ops principles into solution delivery and operational processes.

Required Skills

and Experience Technical Experience 7+ years designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions. Significant experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure. Strong experience with Azure Integration Services. Experience designing API-led, event-driven, and microservices architectures. Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.

Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns. Azure Expertise Strong hands-on experience with: Azure API Management Azure Functions Logic Apps Service Bus Event Grid Event Hubs Azure Storage Azure SQL Cosmos DB Azure Key Vault Microsoft Entra ID Azure Monitor Application Insights Platform & DevOps Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.

Experience implementing CI/CD using: Azure DevOps GitHub Actions Strong knowledge of: Git DevOps DevSecOps Automated Testing Release Management Leadership Experience Demonstrable experience leading engineering teams. Experience mentoring and developing engineers. Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience working with distributed teams and offshore delivery models. Nice to Have
