Local Delivery Driver - CDL Class A

Class A Shuttle Driver — Home Daily Loffredo Fresh Foods | Council Bluffs, IA Pay: $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Class A Shuttle Driver based at our Council Bluffs branch. We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest for over 130 years.

Spend most of your shift driving, with limited freight handling and home time after each shift. This position primarily involves transporting freight between Council Bluffs and our Des Moines warehouse. Depending on the assignment, additional stops include our Sioux City cross-dock and designated customer locations in the Omaha area.

Customers unload at local delivery stops. Cross-dock unloading consists of full pallets handled with an electric pallet jack. Schedule Evening start times of 4:45 p.m. 6:45 p.m. 8:45 p.m. , depending on the assigned shuttle. Shifts continue overnight, with drivers returning home after each shift. Workweeks begin Sunday evening and generally include five or six shifts , depending on the assignment and business volume.

Rotating shuttle assignments provide Friday nights off. What You’ll Do Safely operate a tractor-trailer between Council Bluffs and Des Moines, with additional travel to Sioux City and Omaha-area customers as assigned. Coordinate loading and unloading with warehouse teams and customers. Unload full pallets at the cross-dock using an electric pallet jack.

Verify freight, inspect for damage, secure loads, and complete trip and delivery paperwork. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment concerns. Maintain accurate hours-of-service records. Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers. Monitor road and weather conditions, communicate delays, and exercise sound judgment throughout the shift.

What We Look For Valid Class A CDL , eligible for interstate operation, and age 21 or older. Previous tractor-trailer driving experience; two years of recent Class A experience preferred . Demonstrated safe driving habits during nighttime highway travel and Midwest winter conditions. Strong backing and maneuvering skills at warehouses and customer docks.

Ability to safely operate an electric pallet jack. Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and availability for the assigned schedule. Current DOT medical certification and ability to maintain it. Ability to pass a DOT drug screen, background check including the sex offender registry, Motor Vehicle Record review, and FMCSA Clearinghouse full query.
