THE ROLE The Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, cultivating client relationships, and driving revenue through the sale of private events, hospitality experiences, and special events for House of Blues Anaheim and Observatory OC.

This role manages the full sales cycle—from prospecting and business development through contract negotiation, event planning, and post-event follow-up—while partnering closely with Operations, Finance, Logistics, and Venue leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Sales Manager serves as a strategic business partner, representing the venue within the community and industry while contributing to departmental goals, market growth, and overall revenue performance WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Revenue Generation & Business Development Meet or exceed individual sales goals and revenue expectations established by the Director of Sales.

Develop and execute sales strategies for assigned market segments and targeted industries. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive outreach and consistent follow-up. Conduct site visits, client presentations, and venue tours that effectively communicate the value of the venue and its services.

Prepare customized proposals, pricing, and presentations that align with client objectives while maximizing revenue opportunities. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and event details while balancing client expectations with business objectives. Maintain a high level of direct client engagement through prospecting, relationship management, presentations, and negotiations.

Client Relationship Management Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals. Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and event requests. Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Maintain strong relationships with Convention & Visitors Bureaus, hotels, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), chambers of commerce, professional associations, and other community partners. Represent Live Nation professionally within the local business community and industry organizations. Sales Strategy & Market Development Develop comprehensive target lists for assigned industries and market segments.

Analyze competitive trends, market conditions, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities. Participate in trade shows, networking events, sales missions, and community outreach activities. Assist in developing promotional campaigns, sales initiatives, and marketing strategies that increase venue visibility and revenue.

Collaborate with leadership on annual sales planning, market segmentation, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. Event Planning & Operational Partnership Partner with Operations, Logistics, Catering, Production, Finance, and Venue leadership to ensure successful event execution. Develop Special Event Orders (SEOs), contracts, and other event documentation.

Maintain current event information and communicate updates to internal stakeholders. Ensure accurate event details are documented and communicated throughout the planning process. Develop a thorough understanding of venue capabilities, food and beverage offerings, operational procedures, and event logistics to effectively support client needs.

Sales Administration & Financial Accountability Maintain accurate customer, sales, and event information within company CRM and event management systems. Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance updates. Monitor event financials and ensure compliance with departmental policies and company procedures.

Maintain organized client files, contracts, and sales documentation. Utilize sales performance data and reporting to evaluate opportunities and improve business results. Leadership & Collaboration Partner closely with the Director of Sales to achieve departmental revenue goals and strategic initiatives. Foster collaborative relationships across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Production, and Venue leadership.

Share best practices and contribute to the development of a positive, high-performing sales culture. Support onboarding and development of Sales Coordinators and newer Sales Managers as opportunities arise. Identify opportunities to improve processes that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and revenue growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Three to five years of sales experience in hospitality, special events, entertainment, hotels, venues, or a related industry. Proven success meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals. Experience developing new business and managing client relationships. Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Working knowledge of event planning, hospitality operations, food and beverage service, and guest experience.

Experience utilizing CRM systems and sales reporting tools. Strong organizational, analytical, and financial management skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
