District Transportation/Maintenance/Grounds Assistant
Job description
Title: District Transportation/Maintenance/Grounds Assistant Description: We are looking for a person with hands-on mechanical skills. We will provide tools for the job, but the tools will be considered property of the school district. This job requires you to maintain a reasonable amount of confidentiality, such as but not limited to, vehicle information, bus routes, personal information, student information, and strategies.
Qualifications
Hold and maintain a CDL Class B license General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC Ability to lift 60 pounds repetitively Computer skills including HVAC programming including schedules and operation Good problem-solving skills Self-starter Good communication skills Good attendance and work ethic Willingness to work as a team Training will be provided Duties and Responsibilities: Perform maintenance on all school owned buildings as needed General building repair Complete appropriate paperwork for work orders, maintenance records and any other documentation Light repair of buses and corporation vehicles Snow plowing and assisting with ice melt spreading Maintain shop equipment and tools Other duties as assigned by Superintendent and/or Director of Facilities and Bus Maintenance Work Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud Physical demands while performing the duties of this job - the employee will be required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, and reach with both hands and arms The employee is required to do heavy lifting - 60 pounds repetitively Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus Requirements: Must be 21 years of age Have at least a high school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Complete and pass an Expanded Criminal background and CPS Check Compensation: Competitive pay based upon experience Contracted days: 12-Month Employment Hours: 8 hours per day/40 hours per week Additional hours and overtime as needed Reports to: Director of Facilities and Bus Maintenance and/or Superintendent Equal Opportunity Employer: Our company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
