Job Title : Engineering Documentation Intern- Asset Operations Effective Date : Winter Break Internship (with opportunity to begin in Q4 up to 10 hours per week) Division : Asset Operations Department : Asset Operations Reports to : EVP of Asset Operations Direct Reports : NO Location : Albany (Hybrid) Travel : No Travel Required Position Purpose: This role is a temporary, non-exempt position at the intern level.

Key Capture Energy (KCE) is seeking a motivated engineering student to support the organization and improvement of technical documentation for our operating Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio. This internship provides hands-on exposure to utility-scale battery energy storage systems, renewable energy operations, and the technical documentation used to design, commission, and operate critical energy infrastructure.

The intern will work closely with engineering, operations, asset management, and performance teams to review, organize, and improve the accessibility of technical information across KCE's fleet. This role is ideal for a student interested in renewable energy, battery energy storage, power systems, electrical engineering, or utility operations.

Key Responsibilities

Compile and assess as-built drawings, studies, and technical documentation. Review, catalog, and organize engineering documentation for operating BESS assets. Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, or missing records. Develop standardized asset information packages that can be easily used by operations, engineering, and asset management teams.

Assist in organizing electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, protection studies, commissioning records, and operating procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to technical information management and knowledge sharing. Learn the fundamentals of battery storage technology, power system design, and asset operations.

All other duties as required Work Experience & Requirements: Education: Currently pursuing a degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred) Strong organizational skills Technically minded and curious Willingness to learn about engineering drawings, and studies Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors What You’ll Learn: Utility-scale battery energy storage operations.

Electrical power system fundamentals. Engineering drawings and technical documentation management. How operations, engineering, asset management, and compliance teams work together to manage energy infrastructure.
