Live in or Live-out Housekeeper/Cook req in Notting Hill, private accomm, £50k+ gpa, ASAP start

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Housekeeper/Cook to join a fully private residence in Notting Hill. This is a permanent, full-time position available on either a live-in or live-out basis, for a highly organised, proactive and trustworthy individual who takes pride in maintaining a home to an exceptional standard.

Responsibilities

will include the overall care, upkeep and organisation of the property, high-standard laundry and ironing, specialist garment and wardrobe care, linen management, household stock control, grocery shopping, receiving deliveries, coordinating contractors and identifying maintenance requirements. Although the household has a full-time chef, the successful candidate must be a confident home cook, able to prepare fresh, healthy, family-style meals, breakfasts and light lunches, and provide cooking cover during the chef’s days off and holidays.

The role will also involve caring for a friendly, large dog, including feeding, walking, maintaining routines and arranging veterinary or grooming appointments, as well as overseeing household security and supporting the smooth running of the residence. Previous experience in a high-standard private household is essential, alongside excellent checkable references, fluent spoken English, the right to work in the UK, strong attention to detail, practical household maintenance skills and a genuine understanding of discretion and confidentiality.

A full, clean UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential. The ideal candidate will be calm, resourceful, impeccably presented and able to work independently, anticipate the principals’ needs and provide a discreet, unobtrusive service while respecting the family’s privacy. Role is Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm with flexibility when required. Staff accommodation is provided as own floor in annexed house.
