About the Role
Invent Consulting is seeking a proactive, commercially minded and well-connected Country Representative & Business Development Executive to lead the Company's local presence and support the growth and coordination of its operations in Rwanda. The role combines country representation, business development, client relationship management and administration .
The successful candidate will serve as Invent's primary local point of contact in Rwanda, build and maintain professional relationships, identify and develop business opportunities, represent the Company in relevant meetings and forums, and coordinate local administrative and operational requirements. The role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, engaging clients and senior stakeholders, developing a strong local network, identifying opportunities and progressing them in collaboration with Invent management and technical teams.
The successful candidate must currently be based in Rwanda and have a good understanding of the Rwanda business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Country Representation & Client Relationships Serve as Invent's primary local point of contact in Rwanda. Represent Invent professionally in client meetings, business discussions, networking forums and other relevant engagements. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, prospective clients, partners and other relevant stakeholders. Engage with senior decision-makers and understand their business and technology needs. Maintain regular contact with key stakeholders and provide management with relevant market and client feedback. Build Invent's visibility, credibility and professional network within Rwanda. Identify potential strategic relationships and partnership opportunities and present them to management for consideration. Coordinate with Invent's Kenya-based management and technical teams on client and market requirements.
- Business Development & Market Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Rwanda. Generate leads through networking, referrals, market research, events, professional relationships and other appropriate channels. Develop and maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients and business opportunities. Qualify opportunities and identify areas where Invent's services can address client needs. Initiate engagement with prospective clients and maintain appropriate follow-up. Arrange and coordinate meetings between prospects, Invent management and relevant technical teams. Support the preparation, submission and follow-up of proposals, presentations, expressions of interest, tenders and RFPs. Monitor the Rwanda market for relevant tenders, technology opportunities, partnerships and emerging business needs. Conduct market research to identify sectors and organizations with potential demand for Invent's services. Track opportunities from initial identification through conversion, working with management and delivery teams as required. Provide regular reports on leads, pipeline, meetings, opportunities, market developments and business development activities. Contribute towards agreed business development and revenue targets.
- Client & Opportunity Coordination Understand prospective and existing client requirements and communicate them clearly to the relevant Invent teams. Coordinate internally to ensure client opportunities are appropriately assessed and responded to. Support the preparation of technical and commercial responses in collaboration with Invent's technical and management teams. Follow up on proposals and opportunities and maintain appropriate communication with prospective clients. Escalate significant opportunities, client requirements, commercial matters or issues to management promptly. Support the transition of successfully secured opportunities to the appropriate Invent delivery team.
- Administration & Rwanda Operations Coordinate the day-to-day administrative requirements of Invent's Rwanda operations. Maintain appropriate records, documents, contacts and operational information. Coordinate meetings, appointments and routine communications. Support communication and coordination between Rwanda-based personnel and Invent's Kenya office. Support onboarding and offboarding coordination for Rwanda-based personnel in collaboration with HR. Assist with local logistical and operational arrangements, including meetings, events and business activities. Coordinate routine administrative requirements relating to the Rwanda operations. Maintain appropriate records relating to contracts, correspondence, business development and operational activities. Support coordination with local service providers and other operational contacts where required. Assist with local compliance and statutory administrative requirements as directed by management. Undertake other reasonable administrative and operational responsibilities required to support the Rwanda operations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Administration, IT or a related field. Minimum 3 years' relevant professional experience in business development, sales, client engagement, account management, partnerships, consulting or a related field. Must currently be based in Rwanda.
Good understanding of the Rwanda business environment and local market. Demonstrated ability to identify leads, develop relationships and pursue business opportunities. Experience engaging clients, senior executives, decision-makers or business stakeholders. Experience preparing or supporting proposals, tenders, RFPs or business presentations will be an advantage.
Experience in technology, consulting, professional services or related sectors will be an advantage. Established professional networks and knowledge of the Rwanda business environment will be an advantage. Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills. Good organizational, coordination and administrative capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Key Competencies & Attributes The ideal candidate will be: Professional, articulate and confident. Commercially minded and results-oriented. Able to balance commercial, client-facing and administrative responsibilities.
