4th/5th Grade Instructional Assistant at Nature-Based, Art-Infused School

Job Summary

The individual in this position will provide essential support to the 4th/5th Grade Teacher in creating an environment of warmth and respect that embodies Public Waldorf grades principles. The Instructional Assistant will assist in the daily operations of the classroom, support academic lessons, and help build a healthy social environment where each child's individual "spark" is nurtured.

The Instructional Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Class Teacher and the Administrator. This position is from 8:00am-3:00pm Mon-Thurs and 8:00am-1:00pm on Friday, although specifics are subject to negotiation.

• Letter of Introduction and Resume
• Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (written within the past 12 months)
• Reference Check
• Complete Employment History Disclosure (AB 2534 & SB 848): Applicants must provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, state special school, or private K-12 school where they were previously employed
• Authorization for Release of Records: Employment is contingent upon the applicant's written authorization for Shade Canyon to contact all prior school employers to inquire about credible complaints, substantiated investigations, or discipline for "egregious misconduct"
• Fingerprint Clearance & Criminal Record Check: Must include expanded SB 848 exclusion vetting (prohibiting the hire of any individual convicted of a violent crime or specified sex offenses)
• Professional Boundaries & Mandated Reporter Training: Successful candidates must complete annual training on mandated reporting and the school's Professional Boundaries Policy within six weeks of hire
• Clear TB Test & CPR/First Aid Certification
