Job description
A private family in Dubai is seeking an experienced, highly professional, discreet, and dedicated Nanny to provide exceptional care for their 2-year-old child . The successful candidate will be responsible for the child’s day-to-day care, safety, health, development, routines, and emotional wellbeing, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, organisation, confidentiality, and household protocol.
The Nanny will work as part of a structured household team and must be reliable, proactive, and fully committed to acting in the best interests of the child and the family at all times. Major Functions
- Complete Toddler Care Provide attentive, hands-on care for the 2-year-old child, ensuring comfort, safety, and emotional security. Follow a structured yet flexible daily routine covering meals, naps, play, learning, outings, and bedtime. Prepare and serve meals, snacks, milk, and drinks according to the family’s instructions and the child’s dietary requirements. Support the child through different stages of development, including teething, toilet training, changing routines, and increasing independence. Ensure the child is appropriately supervised at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Health, Hygiene & Safety Bathe, groom, dress, and care for the child with gentleness and attention. Maintain a clean and hygienic nursery, bedroom, play areas, and all child-related spaces. Regularly clean and disinfect toys, furniture, equipment, and items used by the child. Maintain excellent personal hygiene at all times, including showering, oral hygiene, clean clothing, and overall presentation. Demonstrate honesty, loyalty, commitment, reliability, responsibility, and efficiency in all aspects of the role. Monitor the child’s health and immediately inform the parents or relevant medical professional of any signs of illness, allergy, injury, or discomfort. Administer prescribed medication, vitamins, or supplements accurately and only in accordance with parental or medical instructions. Follow all household child-safety and security protocols. No visible tattoos, in accordance with the family’s requirements. No makeup is to be worn while on duty, in accordance with the family’s household standards.
- Developmental & Emotional Nurturing Plan and provide age-appropriate activities to support cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development. Incorporate reading, singing, storytelling, creative activities, and interactive play into the daily routine. Provide sensory play, educational activities, outdoor play, and age-appropriate learning experiences. Encourage communication, confidence, independence, good manners, and positive social behaviour. Build a warm, secure, and trusting relationship with the child through consistent and responsive care. Observe and record developmental progress and share relevant updates with the parents.
- Household Management for the Child Maintain an exceptionally organised nursery, bedroom, playroom, wardrobe, and child-related areas. Manage all child-related laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and storing. Keep the child’s clothing, shoes, toys, books, and personal belongings clean, organised, and in excellent condition. Monitor supplies such as nappies, wipes, toiletries, creams, medicines, food, milk, and other child-related essentials. Ensure the child’s outfits are prepared appropriately for daily activities, outings, travel, and special occasions. Keep an organised inventory of the child’s essential belongings and requirements.
- Child-Related Household Support Keep the child’s bedroom, playroom, and shared child-related areas tidy and organised. Organise toys, books, educational materials, and personal belongings. Coordinate with other household staff to ensure the child’s daily needs are met smoothly. Work collaboratively with the Household Manager, chef, driver, medical staff, and other members of the household team.
- Travel & Mobility Travel with the family domestically and internationally as required. Ensure the child’s routine, comfort, safety, and developmental needs are maintained while travelling. Pack and prepare all child-related travel items, including clothing, food, feeding supplies, toiletries, medicines, documents, toys, and comfort items. Adapt confidently to different climates, time zones, residences, and schedules. Maintain the highest safety and care standards when travelling by private jet, yacht, luxury hotel, or between family residences.
- Communication & Coordination Provide parents with daily updates regarding the child’s activities, meals, sleep, mood, behaviour, development, and any notable changes. Complete a detailed end-of-shift report in the household WhatsApp group, clearly communicating anything pending, outstanding, or requiring handover. Communicate with the household team regarding matters relating directly to the child, including meals, milk, medication, health, activities, and other requirements. Follow up with relevant team members to ensure decisions and arrangements are made in the best interests of the child. Coordinate closely with the Household Manager, chef, driver, medical staff, and other household personnel. Follow family instructions carefully while using initiative to anticipate the child’s needs.
- Personal Conduct & Household Integration Maintain a soft-spoken, calm, respectful, and polite manner at all times. Be caring, affectionate, patient, and nurturing toward the child. Maintain complete discretion regarding the family and household. Respect the family’s privacy, traditions, cultural values, and household protocols. Immediately report any matter observed within the household that may not be in the best interests of the family or child. Information must never be concealed or withheld. Any unusual or concerning conduct by another member of staff must be reported immediately to the Household Manager or the family, in accordance with household protocols. No covering up or withholding of information is permitted. Remain open to learning new childcare techniques and adapting to the family’s preferred routines, methods, and schedules. Maintain a neat, polished, and professional appearance in accordance with the family’s standards. Demonstrate complete reliability, loyalty, honesty, responsibility, and commitment throughout the employment.
Requirements
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have: Proven professional experience caring for toddlers, ideally within private or UHNWI households. Strong understanding of toddler development, routines, nutrition, hygiene, and safety. A warm, nurturing, calm, and patient personality. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The ability to work discreetly and professionally within a structured household team. Flexibility to travel internationally and adapt to changing schedules. Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the child’s needs. Excellent references and a professional employment history. Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification is highly desirable.
