The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA). This role is integral in supporting both patients and providers, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient care
- Room patients, check vital signs, and assess patient needs to communicate effectively with providers
- Assist providers with procedures and patient care as needed
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and coordinate referrals
- Triage patient phone calls, review test results, manage pharmacy calls, and review medications
- Complete patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Perform point-of-care lab testing, prepare specimens, and maintain compliance with CLIA standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and external partners to support patient care and outcomes
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards including OSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC program requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified (CMA) or Registered (RMA) Medical Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Knowledge of standard clinical, lab, and medical procedures
- Computer literacy and accurate data entry skills required
- Familiarity with VFC, CHIRP, and VOMS systems strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
