Head Operations- Angola

Position: Operations Head – Diaper Manufacturing Position Overview The Operations Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations of the diaper production unit, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, cost control, and timely delivery. This role will lead production planning, plant management, supply chain coordination, quality control, and workforce management to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Production & Plant Operations Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations of diaper production lines. Ensure production targets are achieved as per business plans. Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, and productivity. Implement preventive and breakdown maintenance systems. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower and resources.

2️⃣ Production Planning & Inventory Management Develop production schedules based on demand forecasts. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (non-woven fabric, SAP, pulp, packaging materials, etc.) Maintain optimal inventory levels. Reduce wastage and improve yield efficiency. 3️⃣ Quality Control & Compliance Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Oversee quality testing procedures. Implement SOPs and quality improvement initiatives. Handle audits and compliance requirements. Ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in plant. 4️⃣ Cost Control & Operational Efficiency Monitor production cost and optimize cost per unit. Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.

Implement lean manufacturing practices. Control wastage, scrap, and rejections. 5️⃣ Supply Chain & Dispatch Coordination Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams. Monitor stock movement and distribution efficiency. 6️⃣ Team Leadership & Workforce Management Lead plant managers, supervisors, and shop-floor staff.

Build a performance-driven culture. Conduct training and skill development programs. Ensure discipline and compliance with safety norms. 7️⃣ Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to factory laws and labor regulations. Maintain workplace safety standards. Implement EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices.

Handle statutory inspections and documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (MBA Operations preferred). 12–18 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 5+ years in leadership role in FMCG / hygiene / diaper / sanitary napkin / tissue manufacturing. Strong understanding of diaper manufacturing machinery and production processes.

Experience in cost optimization and lean manufacturing.
