About the Company Our client is a specialist environmental consultancy, delivering high quality asbestos surveying and management services across the UK. They focus on refurbishment and demolition surveys, working predominantly within the private residential sector (rather than large commercial or social-housing stock).

The Role We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join the team and undertake refurbishment-type asbestos surveys of privately-owned houses. You will be provided with a fully-expensed company vehicle, access to a bonus scheme and overtime opportunities for additional earnings.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise and conduct asbestos refurbishment surveys of privately-owned houses (99% residential, minimal commercial/housing stock) Inspect all accessible areas likely to contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) prior to renovation works Use recognised survey methods and sampling techniques in accordance with current regulations and guidance.
Carry out risk assessments, site set-up and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for asbestos survey work. Take bulk samples and clearly label and manage chain of custody for laboratory analysis where required Record survey findings accurately using tablet or digital methods, capture photographs, drawings and ensure all data is uploaded/issued correctly Prepare and issue clear, professional survey reports recommending management or removal of ACMs Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders on site in a professional manner Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.
g., Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012), guidance and company procedures. Complete timesheets, travel logs and ensure the company vehicle is maintained appropriately Work flexibly as required – travel and overnight stays may occasionally be needed Requirements Person Specification – Required Proven experience (typically 2-3+ years) in asbestos surveying/refurbishment surveys (residential or similar built environment) Valid full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to domestic property surveys Sound knowledge of asbestos types, ACMs, survey types (refurbishment/demolition) and relevant regulations/guidance.
Strong attention to detail, excellent report-writing skills and the ability to capture, document and convey technical findings clearly Ability to work independently, manage your own diary and travel schedule, and meet deadlines Good communication skills — able to liaise with homeowners, contractors and internal teams professionally Willingness to undertake overtime as required and work flexibly when needed Person Specification – Desirable Qualification in asbestos surveying (e.
g., BOHS P402 or equivalent) Previous experience surveying privately-owned residential houses (rather than commercial/housing-stock only) Familiarity with digital survey capture tools/tablets and sample chain of custody protocols Basic CAD/drawing skills or ability to annotate floorplans CSCS card or construction site experience Working Conditions & Travel The role will involve travel to privately-owned houses across the UK.
Overnight stays could be required depending on project location. You will be issued a fully-expensed company vehicle (fuel, maintenance, insurance included). Overtime will be available when required/project deadlines demand. Standard working hours plus potential extended hours on site when needed. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required depending on client schedule and access constraints.
