Job Description: Line 6 Filler Senior Operator KKC Site- Columbus, Ohio White Shift (7am-7:30pm) The primary role of an Operator is to demonstrate ownership and responsibility for a set of machines, pieces of equipment and/ or processes within their working area. This includes carrying out the routine operational tasks required to achieve area targets e.
g. starting-up, shutting-down, monitoring, cleaning, and carrying out basic changeovers, minor repairs, routine checks, reporting and inspections, and the use of basic ancillary equipment and computer programs. What are we looking for? High school diploma or equivalent. Fluent English verbal and written skills. Experience in the FMCG / Factory Operations industry desirable.
Mechanical training or background is a must What will be your key responsibilities? To operate the Rychiger fillers, making the necessary machine adjustments to properly control the filling/sealing process. To operate all of the equipment necessary to properly mix the final product batches. To assure through net weight checks and visual seal checks that the filled product is the proper weight and correctly sealed according to all specifications.
To properly weigh and mix all of the ingredients for the gravy. To assure that the sanitation levels for the Mixing/Filling area are properly maintained. To effectively and efficiently make product changeovers. To troubleshoot equipment to assure its’ proper place. To perform the assigned preventive maintenance on all equipment.
To communicate with various areas to prevent downtime and quality issues. To utilize the LEAN techniques. To perform tub and lid counts to ensure that the proper amount of material has been issued for product changeover cutoffs. To help ensure that new associates in the area receive proper skills and safety training. Perform Quality Audits as required.
Able to complete all tasks in the area abiding by Mars Safety Practices. Able to complete all tasks in the area as assigned by manager abiding by the Quality Practices and Mars Safety Practices. Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot and cold, dust, dirt and chemicals.

Accountable for day to day running of extruder in line with global standards & monitoring regimes Accountable for the performance of several machines, processes, or pieces of equipment – by following good hygiene practices & manufacturing practices.
Monitor all activities on all production lines, immediately reporting downtime to Supervisor, Maintenance or Quality Assurance when downtime cannot be corrected by the operator. Facilitate good communication and planning with other leads and operators to ensure that changeovers are done timely and effectively, optimization of production lines, quality checks are being performed, schedules are achieved with little downtime, waste is reduced or managed effectively.
