Job description
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, with OT available.
Position Summary
Perform all maintenance mechanic operations to ensure continual operation of equipment and facility.
Responsibilities
Act as a troubleshooter and repair equipment and building utilities. Resolve problems or refer problems to appropriate individual. Perform preventive maintenance with work orders on manual and automated machinery, including CNC lathes, millers, saws, grinding, and honing equipment. Respond to emergency breakdowns of equipment to keep production loss to a minimum.
Inspect equipment to evaluate conditions that could lead to production breakdowns or unsafe conditions. Report problems to supervision. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor. Make recommendations for improvements to work processes.
Contribute to 5S program in work area. Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed. Requirements/Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: 4-6 years of Manufacturing experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of manual and automated machinery, including CNC lathes, millers, saws, grinding, and honing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders. Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring devices, and precision instruments; ability to calibrate instruments as required. Fundamental knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems as they relate to equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
Proficient in basic mathematics needed for measurement, calibration, and equipment setup. Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to evaluate equipment conditions and diagnose root causes of failures. High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and quality standards. Ability to perform thorough inspections and identify potential issues that could lead to breakdowns or unsafe conditions.
Effective communication skills, including speaking, questioning, listening, and documenting maintenance activities and work orders. Dependable and results‑oriented, with a strong sense of initiative and follow‑through. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships and support a collaborative environment.
Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work area, following all safety and environmental procedures. Ability to recommend process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including 5S initiatives. Physical Requirements: Continual standing Frequent bending/twisting Frequent grasping items and tools Frequent mental and visual attention Ladders and lifts Occasional (15-40%) lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.
Work inside and outside in all weather conditions Other: Will be occasionally required to work overtime and weekends to meet customer needs. 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, with OT available
