KC Harvey Environmental, an Aventia company, is seeking an experienced Environmental Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale transmission, pipeline, renewable energy, reclamation, and environmental construction projects throughout the West. Position Summary
As an Environmental Construction Superintendent, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day field execution on large-scale environmental construction projects. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position, not a desk-based superintendent role. You'll spend significant time in the field leading multiple crews and coordinating the people, equipment, materials, logistics, safety, and daily priorities necessary to keep projects moving.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, travel-based environment and is excited by the opportunity to work on high-profile transmission, pipeline, and renewable energy projects. You will serve as a key connection between field crews, project leadership, clients, contractors, and inspectors, helping resolve issues quickly while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, environmental compliance, and client service.
Travel is a core part of this position. Projects may require extended assignments in remote locations throughout Nevada, Idaho, and surrounding regions. Housing and per diem are provided for qualifying assignments. Position Responsibilities Lead Field Operations Lead and coordinate multiple crews performing erosion control, reclamation, restoration, and related environmental construction work.
Drive daily planning, scheduling, crew deployment, and field priorities in alignment with active construction schedules. Maintain a visible leadership presence in the field, providing direction, removing roadblocks, and keeping teams focused on safe, productive execution. Establish clear expectations while promoting accountability, teamwork, and strong field performance.
Drive Project Execution Oversee installation and maintenance of stormwater and erosion-control BMPs, including wattles, silt fence, erosion-control blankets, and related measures. Coordinate materials, equipment, staging areas, logistics, and inventory to maintain productivity. Monitor changing weather, terrain, schedules, and site conditions and adjust field plans accordingly.
Troubleshoot field challenges in real time and implement practical solutions that keep work moving. Support reclamation activities including soil preparation, seeding, stabilization, and vegetation management. Own Safety, Quality & Environmental Compliance Champion a safety-first culture and reinforce expectations across field teams.
Enforce safety requirements and exercise stop-work authority when conditions warrant. Ensure field activities comply with applicable SWPPP requirements, permits, environmental specifications, and project requirements. Maintain high standards for quality, ensuring work is accurate, complete, client-ready, and professionally executed.
Promote environmental stewardship throughout field operations. Communicate & Collaborate Develop effective working relationships with clients, contractors, inspectors, project leadership, and field personnel. Communicate changing conditions, project risks, resource requirements, and operational needs proactively. Maintain accurate field logs, production tracking, compliance documentation, and progress reports.
Use field technology, including tablets, GPS, and GIS-based applications, to document work, track production, and support reporting.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a proven field leader with the judgment, technical knowledge, and leadership skills to successfully manage crews and field operations in demanding environments. Required Experience & Capabilities 5+ years of field supervision experience on large infrastructure, environmental construction, or comparable projects.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple field crews and coordinating field operations. Strong working knowledge of: SWPPP implementation and environmental compliance Erosion-control BMP installation and maintenance Reclamation and restoration practices Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain detail-focused in a fast-moving field environment. Valid driver's license. Ability and willingness to travel extensively and stay in hotels or company-provided housing for extended assignments. Ability to work outdoors in rugged terrain and adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual field work when needed.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. Preferred Experience Experience supporting transmission lines, pipelines, utilities, or other large linear construction projects. Experience operating or working around field equipment such as trucks, trailers, skid steers, and tractors. CDL or willingness and ability to obtain one.
Experience using field technology such as tablets, GPS systems, GIS applications, or similar digital tools.
