Job Summary

As a Cake Decorator, you'll be the artistic heart of our grocery store's bakery, specializing in transforming cakes into works of edible art.

Your role

Join us in creating unforgettable moments for our customers through the artistry of cake decoration. Examples of Duties: Decorate a variety of cakes according to customer requests, including custom designs for special occasions.

Utilize various cake decorating techniques, such as piping, fondant work, and edible image applications. Collaborate with customers to understand their preferences and provide personalized cake designs. Ensure the highest standards of quality and presentation for all decorated cakes. Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in cake decoration.

Assist in general bakery operations, including production, customer service, and cleanliness. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and edible image applications. Familiarity with a wide range of decorating tools and materials. Awareness of industry trends and innovations in cake decoration.

Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices. Skills: Exceptional artistic and creative skills in cake decoration. Proficiency in a variety of cake decorating techniques. Effective communication skills, especially in understanding and fulfilling customer requests. Attention to detail in both design and flavor.

Abilities: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts. Adaptability to learn and use cake decorating tools and equipment. Customer-focused with a commitment to providing a positive shopping experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary arts degree or specialized cake decorating certification is advantageous. Previous experience as a Cake Decorator or similar role. Demonstrated expertise in various cake decorating techniques. Familiarity with inventory management and ordering systems in a bakery setting. Passion for creating visually stunning and delicious cakes.
