Facilities Mechanic

• San Jose, CA, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $26.00 - $31.00Hourly, Job Category: Facilities, Summary: Maintain facility systems and equipment with a concentration in electrical, HVAC and automated controls. Keeps building in clean and orderly condition and provides assistance to maintain building by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(other duties may be assigned): Maintains building Performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities Perform routine minor preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment, chillers, process piping, vacuum, and compressed air systems. Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment Forklift usages as needed Schedules and remain in contact with janitorial staff Qualifications: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education

High School diploma or GED; or 3+ year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Requires considerable knowledge of: modern office methods and procedures; modern business English, spelling and arithmetic; the operations of common office machines and equipment.

Requires considerable ability to: use good judgment in making routine decisions in accordance with existing laws, ordinances, regulations and departmental policies and procedures; establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with departmental personnel and customers. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
