Sales Manager - (O&G)
Job description
We are seeking a driven and technically savvy Sales Manager to lead business growth within an assigned U.S. territory. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, expanding market share, and delivering profitable revenue growth across the Oil & Gas sector.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with technical expertise, partnering with customers to deliver innovative valve automation, actuation, and instrumentation solutions. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role requiring a proactive hunter mentality and the ability to manage a complex sales territory independently.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Sales & Growth, Pipeline, Forecasting & Commercial Performance, Account & Customer Management, Channel & Business Development, Technical & Solution Selling and Market Intelligence & CRM Discipline Drive territory sales growth and achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives. Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans.
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across upstream, midstream, and downstream Oil & Gas markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, OEMs, EPCs, distributors, and other industry stakeholders. Manage a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts. Conduct customer visits, site assessments, technical presentations, and business reviews.
Partner with distribution channels to expand market coverage and accelerate growth. Utilize consultative, value-based selling techniques to position technical solutions that solve customer challenges. Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and customer trends to identify growth opportunities. Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity reporting.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of technical sales or business development experience within industrial manufacturing or engineered products. Experience in Oil & Gas, valve automation, flow control, instrumentation, fluid power, actuation, or related industries.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share. Experience selling to End Users, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial distributors. Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and account management skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to both engineering and commercial audiences.
Strong organizational and territory management skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory (50-75%).
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience within upstream, midstream, or downstream Oil & Gas applications. Knowledge of actuators, valve automation systems, instrumentation, and flow control technologies. Experience working within a global or matrix organization.
