Job description
Legal Office Executive Officer II / Project Co-ordinator II The Legal Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong provides comprehensive and strategic legal support to the University. The Office is seeking a highly experienced, proactive and discreet candidate to join our team. The appointee will provide high-quality administrative, secretarial and operational support to facilitate the efficient functioning of the Office.
Duties include (a) providing executive assistance to the Senior Legal Counsel and the Legal Office; (b) handling confidential, privileged, and sensitive information with utmost integrity; (c) managing complex calendars, appointments, meetings logistics, and travel arrangements; (d) facilitating the efficient administration and operation of the Office, including managing office supplies, invoices, expense claims, and budget administration; (e) maintaining filing systems, registers and databases; (f) serving as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders; (g) preparing legal and administrative documents, presentations and correspondence; and (h) performing other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo (for Executive Officer II); (iii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification executive experience supporting senior executives; (iv) a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and self-motivation; (v) excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an innovative and positive work attitude, and a collaborative team spirit; (vi) outstanding organisational and multitasking skills; and (vii) advanced proficiency in computer literacy.
Prior experience supporting a Senior Legal Counsel or a law firm partner is an advantage, and experience within the tertiary education sector or other regulated environments is highly desirable. Applicants with less executive experience may be considered for appointment as Project Co-ordinator II. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
