Dean/Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering

Our client is a well-established private education group with multi-campus presence in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to the Faculty and align it with the University’s mission for academic and institutional advancement. Oversee curriculum development, programme accreditations, and delivery of high-impact teaching and research. Strengthen industry collaborations, professional certifications, and industry-relevant learning experiences.

Drive student enrolment through market-driven programmes and partnerships. Ensure full compliance with MQA, MOHE, and professional board requirements. Inspire, support, and manage a diverse team of academic and administrative staff. Strengthen external collaborations with industry, regulatory bodies, and global academic partners.

Drive strategic initiatives, digital transformation, and sustainable growth across the Faculty.

Requirements

Must have a PhD in a relevant field (Engineering) Minimum 15 years of academic experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Sound knowledge of Malaysian higher education standards and accreditation processes. Solid understanding of private higher education operations, regulatory frameworks (e.g., MQA, MOHE), and industry expectations.

Experience in academic leadership and management, with strong academic background. Familiarity with industry needs and a commitment to preparing students for the demands of the workplace. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and engage stakeholders. A track record of published research and/or industry-relevant projects.
