Legal Assistant

Dutton Law Group is seeking an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant. We have locations in Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and Pensacola. Applicants should have 2+ years of experience, be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, and be well organized to join our fast-growing team. Insurance defense experience recommended.

Duties: Organizes cases by establishing and organizing files; establishing calendars; expediting requirements and deadlines; documenting actions. Scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel's scheduling requests; coordinating hearing and depositions and processing of pleadings and correspondence and use of the e-filing portal.

Preparation of exhibits and correspondence; scheduling mediation conferences and hearings; drafting pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses from opposing counsel; initiating and maintaining contact with adjusters and opposing counsel. Helps clients by initiating and maintaining contact; preparing clients to answer discovery and keeping clients informed of case status Ability to file pleadings, etc.

, in the Florida State Court filing system Accomplishes law firm mission by completing other duties as needed.
