Medical Laboratory Scientist - Casual

The Medical Laboratory Scientist I (MLS I) is responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing and procedures under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, Laboratory Medical Director, and MLS Section Lead. This role conducts analyses in areas including microbiology, chemistry, hematology, serology, immunology, immunohematology (blood bank), hemostasis, parasitology, virology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. The MLS participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and cost management initiatives, contributes to laboratory operations, and may perform special projects, section leadership tasks, or serve on hospital committees to support optimal patient care and efficient laboratory function.
