CNC Specialist/Programmer
Job description
CNC Specialist, Programmer, Manufacturing, Garden Grove, CA $40.00 - $50.00 per hour. M-F 7am - 4pmThe CNC Specialist role is based at the Garden Grove site within Manufacturing Engineering and reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer. It supports machining operations through CNC programming, tooling and fixture development, process optimization, and cross-functional technical guidance. +**Core Technical Mission:**The position develops, validates, optimizes, troubleshoots, and maintains programs and setups for multi-axis CNC mills and lathes while supporting safe, efficient, repeatable, and cost-effective machining processes. +**Tooling And Process Development:**Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements, participating in Design for Manufacturing reviews, designing and qualifying fixtures, workholding systems, cutting tools, and form tools, and managing the machine shop tooling library and related documentation. +**Quality And Improvement:**The specialist works with Engineering, Manufacturing, machinists, operators, and Quality; supports first article inspections, process validations, root cause investigations, and corrective actions; and leads efforts to reduce cycle times and scrap while improving yields, process capability, uptime, and reliability. +**Work Allocation:**Approximately 30 percent of time is assigned to writing, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs and maintaining program and tooling standards; 20 percent to engineering and machinist collaboration on Design for Manufacturing and process optimization; another 30 percent to program, tooling, setup, and process documentation; and 20 percent to selecting or designing tools, fixtures, and materials.**Qualifications And Skills:**Required preparation includes a high school diploma plus relevant technical education or equivalent experience, and at least 5 years in plastic manufacturing, hands-on plastic CNC programming and machining, machining or toolroom work, and fixture or custom-tooling development. Required technical skills include CAD/CAM, Solid. Works or an equivalent system, Mazatrol, G-Code, M-Code, plastic machining knowledge, digital documentation, and analytical troubleshooting; leadership, communication, and cross-functional teamwork are also required.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is**$40.00 to $50.00 per hour ($83,200 - $104,000 annually).** This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
