Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Adult

Dept: Clinical coverage across adult programs Work Hours: M-F, 8-5, with on call duties Key Functions Compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the Menninger Clinic and its Corporate Compliance committee, the standards of the Joint Commission and other medical record and legal requirements.

Perform psychiatric assessments for new patients admitted to the Menninger Clinic as directed by the supervising physician. Assist with the ongoing management of psychiatric conditions for patients in collaboration with other providers as indicated. Perform Medical History and Physical Examinations for patient services as requested.

Collaborate with the Administrative Director and other members of the leadership team with developing, supporting and implementing new initiatives for the medical staff department. Assist with holiday, weekend or vacation coverage as assigned. Provide education and training to departmental staff as assigned. Maintain clinical competency and licensing by completing appropriate continuing education requirements.

PROFESSIONAL FUNCTIONS Maintain competencies and demonstrate skill and knowledge with specialized evaluation and treatment modalities as indicated: Psychiatric Examination and Assessment Dynamic Treatment Planning Pharmacotherapy (Psychiatric and Medical) Physical Examination and Assessment Medicine/Neurology Addictionology Neuropsychiatric Assessment Infectious Disease Protocols Demonstrate an understanding of developmental tasks and special needs for and the ability to establish rapport with: Adolescents Adults Older Adults/Geriatrics Education Required: Completion of an approved training program with certification in the treatment of geriatric, adult and adolescent patients.

License/Certification Current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Texas Controlled substance registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
