Facilities Maintenance Intern

Job description A Facilities Intern is responsible for the upkeep of the facility by performing various functions such as general plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, and painting to name a few.

Responsibilities

Assisting current facility staff with projects in various locations. Clean and maintain common areas of the facility including break rooms, restrooms, stores and warehouse. Cleaning includes dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, painting etc. Maintain and perform routine inspections. Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.

Follow all health and safety regulations. Work with other departments when instructed. Perform other maintenance duties as requested. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities High School diploma or GED. Knowledge of hazardous risks with cleaning chemicals and supplies Strong work ethics & is a great team player. Able to prioritize tasks and follow procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of related work experience Experience using dollies, pallet jacks and forklifts. Physical Demands Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted. Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, sitting, & constant movements of hands to operate tools/machines. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Work Environment Work is performed indoors & outdoors with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, and movements of machine/equipment.

Salary Expectations Rate $16/hour. Physical Demands Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted. Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, sitting, & constant movements of hands to operate tools/machines. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
