Job Description – Price Book Assistant Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat – Remote Work Mode: Remote initially; Ahmedabad-based candidates preferred Experience: 4–5+ years Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Days: Monday to Friday Working Hours: U.S. time-zone aligned / Night Shift in India Industry: Retail / Convenience Stores Role Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented Price Book Assistant to maintain accurate product pricing, costs, margins, and sales reporting across multiple retail stores.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with numbers and large datasets, have strong Excel skills , and understand cost, selling price, and gross margin calculations .

Key Responsibilities

Sales Reporting Prepare recurring sales summaries by item, category, and store. Review sales and performance data for management reporting. Compare sales performance across stores and product categories. Identify pricing or sales trends requiring attention. Extract and organize sales data from retail/POS reporting systems.

Price Book & Pricing Accuracy Maintain accurate product pricing across multiple stores. Ensure retail prices reflect correct vendor costs and target margins. Update selling prices when vendor costs change. Audit pricing data for errors, inconsistencies, and outdated prices. Review pricing at item, category, and store level.

Margin Management Check cost, retail price, and gross margin calculations. Identify underpriced products or products with insufficient margins. Flag pricing issues that may negatively impact sales. Support management in maintaining appropriate target margins. Excel & Data Management Use Excel to review, cross-check, and maintain large pricing datasets.

Perform bulk price/cost updates and prepare files for system import. Use formulas, filters, lookups, Pivot Tables, and other Excel functions. Maintain high accuracy while handling repetitive, detail-heavy work. POS / Retail Back-Office Operations Work with retail/POS back-office systems for pricing and reporting. ECRS Catapult experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Learn and manage pricing, item, cost, and sales-reporting functions within the system. Required Qualifications 4–5+ years of relevant experience in retail pricing, merchandising, pricing operations, retail MIS, bookkeeping, or another numbers-focused role. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good understanding of cost, retail price, and gross margin calculations.

Strong MS Excel skills. Experience working with large datasets and repetitive data validation. Comfortable working with POS, ERP, retail, or back-office systems. Ability to identify pricing discrepancies and resolve data inaccuracies independently. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
