GPU Repair Engineering Supervisor
Job description
Overview
Sprout (www.Sproutup.com) is a rapidly growing IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) provider and electronics recycler. We are a growing GREEN company that has a customized ERP platform to manage our business. Sprout leverages data and analytics to make IT asset disposition flawless for the world’s leading enterprise. In the quest for smooth IT infrastructure refreshes, superior technology is only half the solution.
The other half is uncompromising customer service. Our world-class customer service teams’ partner with companies at every turn to deliver solutions that make life (and the world) better. Sprout is hiring a GPU Repair Engineering Supervisor to lead the hands-on repair and customization of GPU-class server hardware moving through our ITAD operation.
This role owns the technical standards and team leadership behind board-level repair, failure analysis, and repair/harvest/scrap decisions — turning diagnostic findings into dispositions that protect asset value and keep the repair line moving.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor a team of GPU repair technicians, setting daily priorities and quality standards on the repair line. Perform and oversee hands-on BGA rework: GPU-class reballing, laser and hot-air rework stations, thermal profiling, X-ray and AXI inspection, and underfill removal and application.
Lead failure analysis — interpreting XID codes and other diagnostic output to make repair, harvest, or scrap dispositions on incoming GPU hardware. Establish and enforce repair workflows, documentation standards, and work instructions across the team. Own final quality control and validation before units are released for resale or redeployment.
Coordinate with sourcing/parts and vendor contacts to secure components needed for repair. Enforce ESD, safety, and handling compliance on the bench and in the lab. Report repair throughput, yield, and scrap/harvest rates to operations leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications IPC-7711/7721 certification — minimum requirement. Hands-on experience with GPU-class BGA reballing, laser and hot-air rework stations, thermal profiling, and X-ray/AXI inspection. Demonstrated ability to read XID codes and other GPU diagnostic output and translate them into repair, harvest, or scrap decisions.
Prior supervisory or team-lead experience in a hardware repair, rework, or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification. Experience in an ITAD, server refurbishment, or data center hardware recycling environment. Familiarity with specific GPU platforms e.g., NVIDIA data center GPUs Lean/Six Sigma or other process-improvement background. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily a bench/lab environment within a server repair and refurbishment warehouse.
Extended periods standing or sitting at a repair bench, operating soldering, rework, and inspection equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Proper ESD and PPE protocols required at all times.
