Reader/Scribe - On Call in Salisbury, MD

No remote or hybrid opportunities. This role will work in partnership with a visually impaired person.

No holidays. THIS IS AN ON-CALL POSITION. Work week is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm (no holidays). REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Proficient knowledge and mastery of the English language in order to read for employee with a disability. Ability to read a variety of handwritten/printed and on-screen materials to visually impaired employee.

Ability to verbally describe various visual aids such as graphs, charts, pictures, illustrations, etc. used to supplement written/printed text. Ability to identify and learn the basic structure of a state agency in order to support their client. Proficient knowledge and ability to use MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse. Ability to understand and follow policies, specific instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to safely guide and accompany client throughout the workspace. Understanding of and ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards. Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
