Laborer

Johnson Construction Group is hiring a laborer in Newnan. Most days you are with the crew. Carrying and staging material, demo, cleanup, backfill, holding the dumb end of the tape, and picking up the trade from carpenters who have been doing it a long time. Occasionally you will take one of our trucks to the lumberyard or the supply house on your own, pick up exactly what was ordered, check it before you load it, and get it to the jobsite.

Some of those mornings start early so the crew is not standing around waiting on material. Nobody will be on the phone with you the whole time, so you have to be able to look at a list, see what is missing, and make a sensible call. What we need 21 or older with a valid Georgia license. A genuinely clean driving record.

Driving for us is subject to approval by our insurance carrier, and you will be asked to pull your own MVR. Construction experience helps, but we will teach the trade to somebody dependable who wants to learn it. Pay and schedule $16 to $20 an hour depending on what you bring, paid weekly. Retirement match after 90 days.

Five days a week, home every night. Weekends are rare. We are nine people in Newnan and we have been here since 2017. If you want to end up a carpenter, this is the door in. Call the office at (770) 291-4555 or apply here.
