Why MSE Moloney & Sons Engineering is a unique professional engineering practice who have specialised in civil & structural engineering including all facets of civil infrastructure and planning, stormwater/flood management together with commercial, industrial, medium-rise & residential structural engineering. The Role As a Senior Engineer Fabricator, the underlying focus is providing utmost satisfaction to the client by ensuring tasks and projects are completed within the allocated period of time, within the budget that has been assigned and adheres to the Engineering Manufacturing Standards.
The role also has an additional marketing and work search function which involves promoting Moloney & Sons Engineering to the construction and structural building sectors in Queensland and New South Wales with the aim of securing additional work in this discipline. The position will work with Moloney & Sons Engineering’s Manufacturing Director in this regard.
As part of this role, the opportunity to increase Moloney & Sons Engineering’s capability should be pursued. The role will also assist with the implementation of the Company systems and procedures.
Key responsibilities
Ensure sufficient task analysis are completed to carry work out safely. Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner. General Engineer Fabricator duties including use of: grinding, cutting (friction and Gas cutting), welding (MIG, TIG, stick), polishing, Cropping, Pressing, Heat Treatment and Stress Relieving of Steels, painting, blasting and erection (on-site works).
Co-ordinate and work in a team environment. Maintain and use equipment as designed. Ensure that work is performed as per Job Cards or ITP’s and current schedule of works. Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time. Daily time cards are completed accurately and on time.
Assist in the management of a harmonious environment, team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required. Adherence to Company procedures.
Requirements
The incumbent is an experienced and motivated fabricator with sound technical knowledge, effective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team environment. The ability to investigate issues and present sound and innovative solutions is crucial. A ‘C’ Class Driver’s License is essential. The position requires an ongoing certificate of engineering with at least 10 years experience in the manufacturing and fabrication of the steel industry.
